It has to be primed before first use, and that proved a bit confusing to our reviewers and should be clarified in the manual, but after that it was smooth sailing. Unlike the other coffee makers we've tested to date, the Melitta ships with both coffee pods and tea pods, and has a special attachment for making iced tea. But how's the coffee, you ask? The quality of the coffee rates high, so long as you are not someone who likes to blend beans together to make your coffee. You see, the Melitta One:One accepts pods and reviewers suggest that with the Melitta One:One, it's harder to mix different coffees together to make a single cup (as compared to a filtered system). On the upside, the pods are quite tidy (no messy grounds) and brew quickly. Reviewers report that the Melitta One:One brews a cup of coffee in about 1.5 minutes, and the reservoir holds 24 ounces of water, so it's possible to brew 2-3 cups, one at a time.
